Agency Functions

 Starke County Court Services Community Corrections Division acts as a local, Court-ordered alternative to State incarceration for felony offenders; providing rehabilitation through evidence-based programs targeted to reduce recidivism, and GPS electronic-monitoring supervision. By offering sentencing alternatives for felony offenders in lieu of incarceration, it reduces the over-reliance on State prisons; acting as an intermediate sanction to reduce prison overcrowding, and increasing public safety by averting incarceration, and its negative consequences for appropriate justice involved individuals, and offenses.

         Our Community Corrections Division operates in accordance with specific Statutory provisions of the State grant, and under the authority of the Starke County Community Corrections Advisory Board.
