Agency Functions

The Starke County Environmental Management District was formed in 1993. Our mission is to promote waste awareness among all residents and businesses in our district. We provide education, assistance, and opportunities for waste reductions, reuse, and recycling, and proper disposal for waste generated within Starke County. The goals of the district are to improve waste management practices, eliminate open dumping and burning, reduce the volume of waste generated and disposal of in Starke County and to turn waste into resources.
